Part 6 - Be Receptive to What Comes
Imagine having a more than 25-year corporate finance career and then turning your life upside down and choosing to write about spirituality. That's what it's like choosing to live by our soul and intuition. That's how much life can change when we choose to live purposefully.
Many of us will be far away from our soul’s purposes, and just as many will be closer to our purposes than we realize. Most of us will have fulfilled purposes already, and most of us have more to fulfill.
Our paths towards fulfillment of our purposes, and our lives, are unique and all are much needed in our world. Choosing a purposeful path is rewarding, fulfilling, and challenging. It is also some of our most important work. It is choosing to connect with our most authentic expression of our soul and selves.
We have connected with soul and Spirit. We have set the intention to align with and manifest our purposes. We are practicing gratitude, self-care, and forgiveness. And we are walking away from all the haters and doubters. Our role now is to remain open, non-judgmental, and receptive of what comes.
We can expect to experience almost anything on our path towards purpose fulfillment. We may need to heal some aspects of our lives. We may need to add skills. We may need to move in an entirely new direction. Be receptive to what comes.
The next right steps aren’t always clear or obvious. They are often opportunities outside of our “normal” life experience. They may be new interests or career changes. Sometimes we get introduced to something, or someone, that grabs our attention. Sometimes we discover something about ourselves that sends in a new direction. Sometimes we begin pursuing a long-held dream. It can be almost anything.
This is when our intuition can help us because we can ask, “Is this the right path?” Another good question to ask, “Is this in alignment with fulfillment of our purposes?” This is why our connection with our soul is the first part, for support in whatever way we need it.
Once sure that we are moving in the right direction, we can move forward with more confidence. Assured that this new thing, or new experience, is part of the path we chose. But it still can be challenging. It is a path towards purpose, not perfection.
Letting Go to Move Forward.
In as much as we are open to what comes, it may be surprising. Maybe even shocking to learn about ourselves on a soul level. Connecting with our soul and following our path towards purposes will open us up to all sorts of newness. Some of it may not be comfortable.
We may have some conditioning or judgment around what we are now suddenly drawn to or guided to. We may need to heal, grow, and shed old versions of ourselves. There may be some inner work to do including releasing and letting go.
The path is improved by letting go of what no longer serves so that we can add more of what is in alignment. We may need to move away from energies, people, places, things that no longer serve. Especially as we begin to add more of what we will need to fulfill our purposes.
Our lives will begin to shift and change as we move forward. Letting go of the old and adding the new is part of the path. Each of it is in service of our purpose and our fulfillment.
Trust the Process and the Path.
Change can be hard even when we choose it and it is aligned with our purposes. We are changing our inner and outer lives. Sometimes all at once. Trusting the process and the path, along with gratitude, self-care, and forgiveness, are what will help us continue to move forward.
Think of the process and the path of fulfilling our purposes as a marathon not a sprint. For many of us it is a long process. Think years, not months. And, if that seems daunting, think of it as fulfillment of not only our purposes but of our lives, our souls.
When we are unsure, we can ask soul and Spirit for the help we need. When we are fatigued, we can invest in self-care. When we are healing and shedding old versions, we can do what it takes to make it through knowing that we are on our path towards fulfillment.
Our connections with our soul and Spirit aren’t just for show. They are an investment in our most authentic self. They are meant to support us on our purpose path. When the path becomes challenging, ask for help. Ask for support, helpers, a hug, a break, anything we need. Have conversations with our soul and Spirit. Talk it out. Work it out. They want to help us and have a vested interest in us fulfilling our purposes.
Throughout it all, trust the process. Trust that all that is guided is part of the process. Trust the opportunities that arrive because they are part of the path. Trust that all is moving us towards discovery and fulfillment of something we have long dreamed of - purpose.
Part of our path towards our purposes may include growing out of the old self and into deeper alignment with our soul. We are walking the path with our soul, trust it. Be receptive to what comes. Our souls know the way. They chose this path. They have always known it.
