How to Find Your Soul's Purposes

The image a close up of me from the neck to the middle of my torso. My right hand is over my left hand and resting on my heart center. I am wearing a white shirt, a carnelian beaded bracelet, a turquoise beaded bracelet, and a turquoise ring. My auburn curls are visible near the top of the image.

Part 2 - Gratitude, Self-Care, and Forgiveness

Now that we are connected with our souls, almost anything can happen. We may learn things about ourselves from our soul’s perspective. We may change and grow in unexpected ways. We may experience shadow work, healing from the life we led before our quest for purpose.

Our soul will take us on a journey of self-discovery. Each step towards our purposes will provide what we need to fulfill them. As we are guided forward the steps may appear to be unrelated, but they are. Each one is needed, and all are moving us forward toward fulfillment of our purposes.

We can expect almost anything on our path towards our purposes. Changes and growth, new experiences and healing. We must move through it with gratitude, self-care, and forgiveness.

Gratitude.

Gratitude is important, always. It raises our vibration and sends signals to Spirit and soul that we receive and appreciate the many blessings they provide in the moment and in our lives. This can be especially important as we move forward on our goal of finding and fulfilling our souls’ purposes.

The extra boost of vibration can help us move forward on our path. It can provide the much-needed energy to move one step at a time towards discovery and fulfillment of our purposes. Each action that we are aware of, each message of guidance from our soul, must be acknowledged and received with gratitude.

It doesn’t have to be a ritual. Our gratitude practice can be as easy as saying, “I acknowledge and am grateful to receive the message/blessing/gift/awareness.” It is as easy as bringing awareness to what comes in, acknowledging it, and receiving it with gratitude.

Each expression of gratitude increases vibration and sends a message. Each tells Spirit and soul that we are acknowledging their part in our co-creation. Each is acknowledging our part in our co-creation with Spirit and soul. Each is momentum forward towards discovery and fulfillment of our souls’ purposes.

Self-Care.

Connecting with our soul is only the beginning of the journey towards purpose fulfillment. There may be many instances of deconstruction and development before we are ready to fulfill some of our purposes. Others may have already been fulfilled. For other purposes, it may be a process.

Self-care will allow us to move forward through whatever comes up for us. Each step forward towards our purposes will have its own challenges. Each step needs self-care that matches it.

On our path towards fulfilling our soul’s purposes, we may need more care and attention - body, mind, heart, and soul.

Sometimes our path requires more self-care for the body - more rest, more activity, different nutrition, more nature, more nurture.

Sometimes our path requires more self-care for the mind - meditation, self-isolation, intentional work with intrusive thoughts, more mindfulness, more of anything that brings us peace of mind.

Sometimes our path requires more self-care for the heart - a release of energies, a release of the old, a softer gentler approach to the moment, more self-love, more love for all beings.

Sometimes our path requires more self-care for the soul - more listening to guidance, more trust in our guidance, more of what inspires our soul, more of whatever our soul is guiding us to.

On our path towards finding our soul’s purposes we can expect almost anything. Changes, growth, expansion, deconstruction, and reconstruction. Each part of it can be eased by bringing awareness to our self-care needs. And then acting upon it. Sometimes our self-care is what gets us through it.

Forgiveness.

Connecting with our soul and seeking our purpose, will bring changes. Those changes may bring any number of realizations and new awareness. Some of it may require forgiveness of ourselves and others. Forgiveness that helps us move through it and forward.

We may learn things about ourselves that are cringey and maybe even shocking. We must forgive. We knew what we knew when we knew it. And now that we know better we can do better.

As Maya Angelou said, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”

We must forgive ourselves for what we did before we knew better. We must forgive all the resentments and other ill will that we are carrying. We must forgive to move forward. We cannot go forward on our paths towards purposes carrying all the junk that held us back from it before.

Moving Forward.

Gratitude, self-care, and forgiveness aren’t exclusive to finding and fulfilling our soul’s purposes. They are a recipe for a healthy inner life. One that can move us forward in alignment with our soul and all they are sent here to experience.

A healthy and happy self will always help us move towards all that is meant for us. We will shine more brightly and vibrate higher. That alone will help us flow on our path towards fulfillment of our purposes.

At this time on the planet, and certainly in my country, vibrating higher and being happy is a sacred act of resistance. Maybe that holds true in our personal lives as well. Prioritizing our soul’s path and our purposes will always be sacred and the right thing to do.
