How to Find Your Soul's Purposes

The image a close up of me from the neck to the middle of my torso. My right hand is over my left hand and resting on my heart center. I am wearing a white shirt, a carnelian beaded bracelet, a turquoise beaded bracelet, and a turquoise ring. My auburn curls are visible near the top of the image.

Part 5 - Connect with Spirit.

I am a spiritual person so, of course, I am going to recommend connecting with Spirit on our path towards discovery and fulfillment of our purposes. In Part 1 we connected with our soul which means we are already connecting with the Divine within us. Connecting with Spirit is the next link in the unbreakable chain of Divine connection. It only requires that we bring awareness to the connection that already exists between us, soul, and Spirit.

While on our path of purpose, Spirit is part of our support system along with our soul. Yes, we may receive helpers, people and souls sent to help us fulfill our purposes, but Spirit is always there. With intention, we can receive any help that we perceive is needed. We will, however, receive what Spirit deems is needed. So, we must be mindful of our expectations.

About Spirit.

Spirit, I hope, is a broad enough term. What I really mean to share is that we connect with what or who we identify as Spirit. What or who we connect with will look differently, feel differently, to each of us. We are, and must continue to be, free to practice our spirituality in whatever way resonates with us.

The point is to connect with the Divine that connects us to ourselves. There is no right or wrong answer, there is only Spirit as we perceive it and are aware of it. There is only what helps love, support, protect, and guide us on our path and in our life.

The connection must be authentic to each of us. Our purpose is to be our most authentic expression of soul and the Divine light within us. It is with the help of Spirit and soul that we can heal from prior conditioning and allow our most authentic self, and our purposes, to emerge from within us.

The more we invest in our connection with Spirit the more we will receive in return. The intentions, prayers, and practices all lay a foundation for our connection with Spirit. The way we do that is entirely up to us. We must connect with Spirit in a way that is authentically us.

Intentions.

It is the intention that we bring to the connection that creates our perception of that connection. With intention we can create the relationship with Spirit that aligns with our values, needs, and goals. And that can look like almost anything.

Each one of us will have different needs based on our life experience and our path towards fulfillment of our purposes. We may feel the need for guidance, or for companionship. We may feel the desire for a spiritual path. We may feel the need for more practical help. And, once we establish the connection, Spirit may see that what we need is something entirely different than what we perceive.

Setting intention can be a practice or a ritual. It can also be a conversation we have with Spirit while we’re driving in the car or riding the bus. It can come from the love we have in our heart and soul, or it can come from written notes.

The intention can begin with bringing awareness to the connection with the purpose of discovering our soul’s purposes. The intention can be to deepen our spiritual life. The intention can be to receive help on the path towards fulfillment in whatever way that resonates with us.  Set the intention that resonates and speaks to our dreams and wishes, goals and purposes.

Spirit and the Path.

Once we set the intention, we are beginning a relationship. Much like the connection and relationship we have created with our soul, we are asking to be aligned and guided to our purpose. And much like soul, Spirit has a vested interest in us discovering and fulfilling our purposes.

Spirit will help us on our path. They will provide what we ask for, maybe not in the way we ask for it, but they know what to deliver. What we need to remember is to connect, ask for what we need, and then trust it when it shows up in our life. (More on that in Part 6.)

While on the path towards purpose, we may not know what we need or which direction to go in. That’s okay, we don’t need to. We can ask for the next right step or ask for guidance. We can set the intention to continue to move forwards towards our purpose. We can ask for almost anything.

The harder part sometimes, is trusting what comes. What we receive may not always look like what we expect it to. We may receive what we need and not what we ask for. We may ask for flowers and receive rain. And we must trust that it is aligning us with our purposes.

Through our connection with Spirit, and on our path towards our purposes, we will be asked to trust that all that is happening is what is needed to fulfill our purposes. All that comes is aligned, and all that opens for us is the right opportunity. All that comes our way can be confirmed with Spirit, with our soul, and with our intuition. And trust is so very important to the process.

Connecting or Remembering?

Our connection with Spirit has always been there. So even though this entire post is about connection, it is truly about remembering and re-connecting. Setting the intention and bringing awareness to our connection with Spirit.

They never left us, we left Spirit. Spirit is oneness. Spirit is all things. Some would say that we forgot at birth and that we are meant to remember in life. Some of us have remembered.

Our path towards our purposes, when it includes Spirit and our soul, becomes a great adventure. It can give our lives meaning and purpose all on its own. The path is purposeful and our connection with Spirit can make it what we need it to be.
