Part 4 - Ignore the Haters, Skeptics, and Doubters, Especially if They are Within Your Own Thoughts.
The path towards purpose isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. We may be far away from our purpose. We may need to heal and grow from our past before we can find fulfillment. We may need to learn and add skills before we are able to fulfill our purposes. All that means there will be changes in ourselves and in our lives.
As we heal, grow, learn, and add skills that are aligned with our purposes, the people around us may have their opinions. They may not understand why we are doing all this “stuff”, or why we are “changing”. They may even deride our choices and the concept of “purpose”. And that’s okay. The people around us don’t need to understand our path.
We don’t need the people in our lives to understand or approve of our choices and actions. We have likely been dissatisfied with life and seeking purpose for some time before we got serious about manifesting purpose. It is time to focus on ourselves. We don’t need the haters, skeptics, and doubters to approve of our choices, our path. Ignore them. Walk away. Let them go.
It is our path towards our purpose. We don’t need anyone’s approval or input. They aren’t on our path, we are. It is our path. Let them be on their path. We’ll stay on our own.
Choosing to walk away from anyone, or anything, that isn’t serving our path towards purpose is strong energy. It is telling our soul and Spirit that we are removing blocks and clearing out the old. We are focusing on our path. We are making energetic space for all that is new and aligned with our purposes.
Supporters and Soul Family.
To have people around us that are ready, willing, and able to help is a blessing. They seem to be sent by Spirit, and are often soul family here to help us fulfill our purposes. Even before some of us were born our souls created connections that ensured our success.
Some of us will be provided with helpers and the people we need to fulfill our purposes. They are often members of our soul families that are meant to be in our lives at a certain time, and in a certain way, to provide that boost of energy we need to move forward on our path. The ones that say the thing or do the thing that help us reach the next step.
Our soul families sometimes spend a lifetime with us. Some spend a short time and help us shift something within us that supports our path. Some of our soul family members are with us only a short time to activate something within us.
Some of us may be fortunate and have people in our lives that are supportive of our desire to find our soul’s purpose. What a blessing it is to have supportive people around us. Remember to be grateful for their support.
Without Support.
Many of us don’t have support around us. Some of us have no one that we can share our desire for purpose and our path towards fulfillment. Some of us will keep it hidden, a secret that only our soul knows and supports. For some of us that is our path.
The path of the hermit. The wise one who works in seclusion. We make steady progress towards purpose fulfillment. There is a purpose in that too. Some of us are meant to grow and evolve into our purposes.
For some of us it is our path to learn how to support our own growth and purpose. We are meant to connect with our soul and create a spiritual life that supports us. It is a karmic destiny that serves as both path and purpose.
Some of our paths are meant to be walked alone. Our purposes emerge from within us as we move forward. We begin to discover them and fulfill them on our own. A sacred gift to ourselves. Without external support the path is no less worthy or sacred. It is just a different kind of path. One that we walk with our soul.
The Critic Within.
Sometimes on our path towards our purposes we can take each step effortlessly. And sometimes our minds are the hater, skeptic, or doubter. It is when our minds are the ones bringing us down that we need to step up.
Much of our lives are spent within our own thoughts. So, when you think about it, our thoughts must be self-supporting. The words we use to ourselves. The energy we bring to our inner world. All of it can either help us or hurt us. And the best thing is, we get to choose.
Maybe we have been programmed by life to think or act a certain way. And maybe that conditioning became our thoughts. We can re-program and recondition our thoughts. With time, intention, and care it is possible.
I was in my early 50s when I learned about my inner critic. It was that voice in my head that kept telling me I couldn’t do the thing, or I wasn’t qualified. I also learned how to reprogram my thoughts. I learned to shut down the negativity and self-limitation and then I learned to create a better inner dialogue.
There are many ways for us to work with our inner critics. For me, it worked to call out the lies in my thinking. I confronted the thoughts that said I couldn’t. After practicing that for a while, it became easy and my inner critic became quiet.
Then I wanted to rebuild my inner dialogue so I invented an inner support system - a cheerleader. The inner dialogue that cheered me on through all the changes I was experiencing as I sought purpose and experienced a spiritual awakening.
With intention and practice, I was able to shut down my inner critic which then allowed me to be free of much of my negative conditioning.
My path towards fulfilling my purposes was possible because I was supportive of myself. Even when no one around me was supportive, when they were trying to talk me out of this path, I had both my soul and my inner dialogue that supported me through it all.
If the hater, skeptic, and doubter is within our own thoughts, it can be overcome. We can learn to be supportive of ourselves. We can provide the support we need to move forward on our path towards finding and fulfilling our soul’s purposes. I am proof.
It is Our Path.
It is our path and our purposes. We may choose to tell the people in our lives, and they may have strong opinions, and that’s okay. It is our purpose. It is our desire for fulfillment. We won’t let anyone stop us, especially ourselves.
When we sense that we are giving up hope, or doubting our faith, we can manage our thoughts. We can take a rest and continue on the path another day. We can set the intention with our soul that we aren’t going to let anyone take us off our path, not even ourselves.
It is our path and our purpose - ours and our soul’s. We are worthy of living a life that we love. We are worthy of the fulfillment we find in our purposes. We are worthy of the love that is inherent in purpose.
