We all have that one family member. The one who challenges the family. The one who sees the family, not how they want to be seen but sees them from a different perspective. The one who sees a different truth.
That’s the family member who sometimes walks away and takes a different path. Sometimes they expose the family secrets and change the pattern. The one who challenges the family dynamic or status quo.
Sometimes they are called “the black sheep”. Sometimes they are pushed out for speaking the truth within the family. Sometimes they are removed from family communication or pushed out. And often they leave the family because they see the cycles of trauma and choose not to participate.
They are the ones who choose to see the trauma and make efforts to heal. They heal themselves and sometimes other family members. They choose to experience family in a different way. They are the ones whose purpose is generational healing.
Patterns.
The patterns of our families echo throughout the generations. Our genetics carry the patterns of our health and wellness. Behaviors and belief systems are patterned through our genetics and our experiences. All of it echoes throughout our lives and the lives of our families.
Doctors work to understand and heal the genetic patterns. In terms of behaviors and belief systems, there are family members whose purpose is to heal the generational trauma. Their purpose is to change family dynamics. Heal the family lineage.
Those family members are here to experience the trauma and change the pattern within their own lives. They are the ones healing the generations before us and after us. They are the ones changing families and healing generational trauma.
My Experience.
I remember when I experienced generational healing. While sitting in power one day. I started channeling healing. The words that flowed out of me were unfamiliar. They spoke of an experience that wasn’t mine.
As it continued, I began to recognize the details. And then I knew what it was and who I was helping heal. My father was an alcoholic. I was speaking his words and healing his trauma and his lived experience.
I experienced forgiveness and understanding. Forgiveness for perceived failings and for painful situations from the past. I learned about my father and forgave him in spirit.
I was, spirit and I were, healing his generational trauma. All of it had happened many years ago. But it didn’t matter. I learned that sometimes generational healing occurs after death and in mediumship.
I had a similar experience healing with my mother in spirit. She came to me to comfort and hold me through my healing and spiritual awakening. Through that we healed our relationship.
I received the message from spirit that we were healing past generations of ancestors and family in spirit. And all of it occurred within me and with my family in spirit. There are many ways to experience generational healing. This was mine.
Generational Healing.
Recently I’ve had an opportunity to witness someone processing and healing their own generational trauma. It is much like healing any other sort of trauma.
There is new awareness and a review of the past. Seeing the past from the new awareness. Forgiving and releasing the past. Understanding the patterns and making conscious choices to do things very differently from the way we were raised or taught.
In hindsight we see that the choices we made in our lives were because of our trauma. Sometimes we realize that we chose a different path because of the pain. Sometimes we experience so much pain that it takes time to process it all.
Some of us chose differently than our parents because of the trauma that we experienced. Some parts of our lives begin to make sense as we heal and return to ourselves. And forgiveness allows us to move past the pain.
Healing takes many forms. Each of us has a unique path. Each of us has different things to heal and grow from and through. Our paths may look different, but the healing is real and echoes through generations.
Our families are changed through our healing. The next generation creates a new pattern. The family line has healed. Generations have healed. Past, present, and future.
Generational healing is an important purpose and an unconventional path. One that is meant for the strong, the wise, and the brave. If this is your path, know you are blessed with everything you need to fulfill your purpose.
