Three years ago, I made a video for my YouTube channel titled "Holy $#!% I’m a Light Worker”. I had just received awareness that I was a light worker, and I was trying to understand what it meant. Being early in my spiritual journey, my understanding of light work was limited.
Recently, I gained a deeper understanding of what it means to be a light worker. I have greater awareness of my own path as a light worker. And, in truth, it is nothing like I thought it would be.
The path of a light worker is a path of service, but not always in the ways we imagine.
Childhood.
As a child I daydreamed of what I wanted to be when I grew up. There was one thing that I remember from that young version of me. I wanted to be a muse. I wanted to inspire people.
From that childish perspective I thought I would inspire people to create works of art, music, and writing. I thought I would have a beautiful life moving from place-to-place inspiring people to make beautiful things.
Remember, I was young. And, yes, I was told I was naïve long before I knew what that meant.
Being a child, there was no plan for me to become a muse or to inspire people. Life overtook the dreams of what I wanted my life to be. Family drama and generational trauma pushed my life far away from my dreams.
Now I realize that as a light worker, I have always been a muse. I have inspired people, but not in the way I expected or dreamed of as a child.
Self-Awareness.
People have often had a strong reaction to me. That includes my family. I have been pushed away and neglected by most people in my life. My family and the people who said they loved me couldn’t love me the way I needed. And for a long time neither could I.
I now understand that my presence sometimes elicits strong reactions, and the outcome isn’t always a positive thing. I’ve been called “intense”. My presence seemed to intimidate people, causing misunderstanding, and rejection.
It especially impacted those closest to me. The ones who said they loved me. That happens, I’m not for everybody. People don’t always get along. We aren’t meant to. Our conflicts can inspire growth and change.
My life experiences and what I write about have the potential to inspire people. Often, I am judged for it. Sometimes harshly. Often, I am rejected. Again, I’m not for everybody, nor do I intend to be. Other people’s reaction to me is theirs. It has no longer impacts me.
There was a time that I took rejection personally. Then I grew to appreciate the filter that it provides for me. I realized that I could tell a lot about people by how they responded to my writing, my spirituality, or my presence.
I now realize that being a light worker means that my presence is intended to inspire change in people, places, and situations. Good or bad, that is a judgment and nothing I control. It is my vibration or resonance, my Divine light that inspires change.
People aren’t always ready for the healing and growth that Spirit sends them. They often aren’t ready to receive the form that it is sent in. Rather than see it as an opportunity, they see it as an unwelcome intrusion.
For many years I took the rejection and neglect personally. I now see it as protection. Or better said, rejection is protection and redirection. I was being protected and redirected until I understood my own light and purpose, my own path as a light worker.
I now know that being a light worker, a muse, doesn’t ensure an easy or beautiful path. Sometimes we are tested through the life we live, the work that we do, or in the situations we live. Sometimes we are challenged to hold our own light. Sometimes we walk through fire so that we can better help others.
The path of a light worker isn’t all love and light. We each have our own path towards wholeness and full light. We each have our own path of service. And each of us has our own purpose. As light workers we each walk our unique path.
The Path.
As a light worker I use all my gifts and sensitivities to inform my spiritual path. It is the blessing of light work. I get to feel, see, hear, experience more than most people do. Some of those gifts were cultivated in challenge and sometimes they were gifted to help me serve my purposes better.
At first the gifts were challenging and the sensitivities almost unbearable. But over time I became stronger and more resilient. The gifts that help me walk the path of a light worker have become the most beautiful and fulfilling part of me. Through them I get to experience the world more fully.
The path of the light worker is between the lines. A material life and a spiritual life. Light workers are the bridge between the two. A balancing act that challenges, heals, and grows us and the people around us.
As light workers we are a conduit through which Spirit works. We are called into action, placed where we need to be for our path and our purpose. We don’t always get to choose where we go and who we are with. We can, we have free will, but that means stepping out of alignment with our path and purpose and an end to our light work.
It is tempting to walk away from light work and our spiritual path. There are times when much is asked of us. There are times when it all seems too hard and too much. It is our connection with Spirit that carries us through. We are loved, supported, protected, and guided throughout it all.
Light workers have so much to offer the world. We carry a frequency that can heal. We shift energy, people, places, and situations. With our presence we can inspire great change.
The path of a light worker is unique to each of us. Our paths are to inspire love, share wisdom, create abundance, create prosperity, create healing, inspire growth, and more in everything we encounter. Whether we, or anyone else, realize it or not. It just happens.
It isn’t about who we are or what we do. It’s about the light we carry within. It’s about the path our soul chose. We may not even realize we are light workers, and we can still have a profound impact.
Light work is a path of service. Sometimes it is a lonely path. And other times we are surrounded by Divine love and light. Always we are fully loved, supported, protected, and guided by Spirit.
It is said that people change everything. Some of us are meant to change everything, everyone, and every situation we meet. Some of us are meant to shine far and wide. Some of us are meant to shine in our own families. And some of us are meant to shine in our own life.
Some of us share our light by providing energy and divination readings. Some of us share the experiences of our spiritual awakenings and our spiritual growth. Some of us work in our families, by sharing our light with those we know. Some of us share with the world and some of us share with one.
This is the path of the light worker.
