Spiritual Awakening and The Path

The Path.

There are some life experiences we are meant to have. The highs, the lows. The triumphs, the challenges. The people that fulfill us and those who drain us. All have a place on our path. All are meant to be mirrors that show us something about ourselves. All so that we can heal, grow, and move forward.

Sometimes we perceive the experiences as tests. It is one interpretation, a judgement of the situation. But rather than judge, the path is to accept the current moment for what it is. Allowing it to shape us in the way Spirit and soul intended. It is the path of spiritual awakening, of consciousness awakening. It is what Spirit and soul want for us.

It is not an easy path. If it were, everyone would be doing it. Awakening would be the path for anyone who chose it. But it doesn’t work that way

My Experience.

It took me several years to realize that I was experiencing a spiritual awakening. I was seeking inner peace, a deeply connected love, and fulfillment that my life hadn’t been providing. I was seeking change in every aspect of my life.

When I finally realized my spiritual awakening process, it was because I had been experiencing a long dark night of the soul. I was facing challenges that I wasn’t expecting. In my need for understanding what was happening, I found my awakening process. And I accepted the path.

My acceptance of the path came before I knew fully what it meant to awaken spiritually or consciously. I learned along the way. One of my purposes was to (is to) share my own path through writing. I am called to share the highs, lows, triumphs, and challenges.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I chose the path that was in front of me. I shared my breast cancer journey and gave it purpose. Just as I share my spiritual awakening path. It gives my life’s experiences another layer of purpose.

For as many challenges as I have faced this year, I know it all has purpose. It has purpose in my healing, growth, and  awakening process. It holds purpose in my writing. My purposes are multi-layered.

Layers.

There are layers of purpose within all of our experiences. We are, our paths are, the proverbial onions - layered.

The pain, the joy, the path, the sharing, the caring, it all holds purpose for us. By recognizing that, it creates a deeper purpose. Sometimes we create purpose from our experiences to make the path have more meaning.

In that way, everything we experience on our path is the path. It all has purpose. We can grow through it or we can wage a private war against it. It is our choice. It is our path.

Again, if it were easy everyone would be doing it. But this path, as challenging as it is, has purpose. It has meaning and it provides.

Our path provides what we need. Peace, love, fulfillment, connection, or whatever else we seek. Each of us sits with ourselves, with Spirit, and asks for what we want. In that way we co-create each layer of our path.

Then Spirit guides us to what we have asked for. Spirit and soul work together to move us forward along the path towards what we have asked for and what is destined for us. The kicker is that it rarely looks like what we expect it to look like. But it does look like what we need.

When we ask for peace, the path guides us towards healing and resiliency. We heal, grow, and become a version of ourselves that is resilient and can be at peace anywhere and at all times.

When we ask for love, the path guides us towards the healing we need. We become the version of ourselves that loves ourselves, can receive love, and be loved in the way we have co-created with Spirit and soul.

When we ask for fulfillment, the path guides us towards our purpose. We find purpose in unexpected ways. We find things were meant to do and be that fulfill the purposes our soul was sent here to fulfill. In that we find fulfillment.

None of it looks the way we expect it to. But it is what Spirit and soul meant for us. Everything we experience on the path is about the path. It all holds purpose, layers of purpose.

The highs, the lows, the triumphs, the challenges are all part of the path. Our job is to honor each as part of the path. Our job is to experience it and allow it to change us, heal us, grow us. All while still remaining connected with Spirit and soul.
